Finally we are trying to get our act together. Instead of just sitting on the beach and bitching about all the issues, we are getting our act together!!

If you are a surfer on the North Coast and live here pay rates and use the beach ... you have rights and a should have a say on what happens at your beach. Unfortunately when you stand alone no one listens or takes you seriously.

The North Coast Surfers Union is not a club, its a forum were we stand together and voice our concerns and opinions. We we can motivate and even action change on our beaches. And most of all preserve the beauty of our coast line.

I want to to challenge you if you live and surf on the north coast and choose not to get involved well then you are saying you don't care!!!

Surfers Lane Clean Up

Hey Guys,

Thanks to all the guys who pitched ion and helped. There is still lots to do ... but hey we will get there!!

Here are some the things we are aiming at:
Palm trees for the Lane ...looking for donors
painting the lane wall
Grass ...
Showers
the Deck!!!!

All good guys we are making a difference.. well done!!

Vagabond Cafe Surf DVD Nite

Guys the Surf DVD nite at Vagabond Cafe, which was organised by the Andrew and Kerry was an absolute blast!!!

We first watched some surfing from the 70's filmed right here in Ballito. It was good to see the length of the waves and how high up the point they broke. What also was interesting was the type of waves the guys enjoyed. It looked like they preferred the flatter surf as apposed to grinding low tide surf ... that we prefer.

Hey guys,

Thanks a mil for joining NCSU it has been a long time coming and instead of bitching about things we hope to actually get some of them sorted out.

There are loads of issues ...some small and insignificant to some, but important to others.
For example at Salmon bat the new balustrade is smack at eye level and you have to get out your car to check the surf. To some one that does not surf its not a biggie nor is getting out your car, but it could have been built differently.

Green Scum

Today Monday 25/05/09 I noticed an excavator levelling the sand on the north side of the lifesaving hut. On closer inspection they were trying to hide some serious looking green slime (something out of ghostbusters). What's that all about??
